The group has tried various crafts over the years - pressed flower cards, embroidery, knitting, decoupage, papercraft and more.

We have made Christmas decorations, the animals of the Chinese Zodiac, commemorated a Diamond Jubilee and a Coronation and contributed to the Yarn bombing in the town and decorated Christmas trees in St Oswald's Church on behalf of u3a

There is easy access to the Wyaston Centre for wheel chair users.

Our next project is pebble painting.

The pebbles will be provided. The base colours will already have been painted.

You will be able to choose one and start to paint your design - or bring your own if you wish. There are lots of ideas to be found on the web if you google ‘painted pebbles’.

Bring painting materials:
paintbrush,
pencil
water jar,
paint palette or saucer on which you can mix paint.

Jill will bring a few of the above items.

We will be using acrylic paint. This will be provided. It is almost impossible to remove it from textiles and so do think carefully about the clothes that you will be wearing - or, maybe bring an apron.

As ever, if you don't want to take part in this activity then do still come along with your own current craft project and enjoy some social time.

Don’t forget your mug.

We were pleased with the results of our recent 'Scissor Project' (right) - although the long-armed cross stitching was a bit of a challenge.
