he Give it a Go Group has managed to secure a fantastic deal for anyone interested in trying gliding for the first time.

The Staffordshire Gliding Club can offer between 6 and 12 members of Ashbourne U3A a flight in a glider on the evening of Wednesday 26th of August 2026. The cost per person would be £47.50 per flight (usual cost is £140 per flight).

The evening starts at 5 pm and finishes by 8 pm.  Flights typically last 5 to 8 minutes and are winch launched – very exciting.  There is a maximum weight limit per person of 100 kg, and a maximum height of 6‘5“.
