Membership and Visitors
There are 2 categories of membership:
Full membership:- members pay the full fee. (Currently £13)
Associate members:- people who already belong to another u3a. They pay the full fee minus £4 (which is the u3a capitation fee).
There are no other concessions. People belonging to other Derbyshire u3as cannot attend for free as we do not belong to the Derbyshire Super Cluster.
People who are considering joining our u3a may attend one Monthly or Group Meeting as a visitor and then decide whether to join us.
Visitors from further afield
Occasionally, members may wish to bring along their guests - friends and relations who are visiting them.
It is expected as a courtesy that they would contact the Group Leader to make this request and that the Group Leader would use his/her discretion when making a decision. If in doubt the Group Leader should contact the Groups’ Convenor.
It is envisaged that these occurrences would be irregular and infrequent and would only apply to visitors who do not live locally i.e. are not resident in Derbyshire or Staffordshire.
Membership Status
Group Leaders can use the Beacon website to ascertain whether people attending their Group are members of Ashbourne & District u3a.
If their names appear on the drop-down list they are members.
If names appear in red in the group list then they are former members who have not (yet) renewed their membership.
If in doubt contact the Membership Secretary.
