Group 1 is now underway, it met for the first time in in mid April to taste and discuss the merits of 3 different Malbecs and Viogniers, and to have a nice convivial evening - which we did!

We will meet monthly in a member's home, so the size of the group is necessarily limited.

As more members join further groups may be added.

If you're interested to know more or would like to join us please email by contacting Jan Dodd. We tend to communicate information via our whats app group and plan dates as we go through the year.

The group is for anyone who enjoys wine - we're enthusiasts rather than connoisseurs!

Past and Future Meetings: 2026

Friday 30th JanuaryThe theme to start the new year is the letter V. On Friday 30th of January two groups will meet at different venues and explore this theme
February 27th Our theme for the February meeting was "Chile and Chillier", We sampled a wonderful fizz from New Zealand followed by a Crisp Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and then an Austrian Orange wine. Phase two consisted on sampling Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon; a Malbec and then concluding with a superb Carmenere. We tested ourselves when trying to match the descriptions with the wine and learned key vocabulary connected with winemaking.
March 27thInterest in the group is such that the next meeting will be held in two venues. The theme is" 6 reasons to visit Australia".
April 24th Meeting to be held. Theme yet to be decided.

To find the date and venue of the next meeting please look at the Newsletter or contact the Group Leader or Deputy Leader using the email link above. The group tends to operate via a WhatsApp group and invitations are sent out each month giving the time, date and theme of each meeting.
