Burton Mere Wetlands is a great reserve, straddling the border between England and Wales with a mosaic of freshwater wetland habitats, mixed farmland and woodland. The boardwalk passes through ancient woodland with towering oaks before winding its way through lagoons to the grasslands beyond. The area is bursting with wildlife, hosting many types of bird including Avocet, Egret, Harrier and Redshank.
