Greg Howell from RAIL INNOVATIONS has developed an innovative Remote Condition Monitoring system with Network Rail. This is mounted trackside and records thermal and optical videos of every passing train.  The recordings are automatically analysed by AI so that a real-time status report can be broadcast to Network Rail and the train operator.  The talk will include use cases and the challenges encountered with using thermal cameras to record fast-moving subjects, plus how they were overcome.
