Covid Advice

At a meeting of the Committee of Ashbourne & District u3a on 21st June 2022 the following Guidance in respect of the ongoing Covid stuation was agreed. 3a is a later addition.

1. Everybody should continue to remain cautious, exercise common sense when meeting, and respect each other’s personal space, as Covid-19 will be a feature of our lives for the foreseeable future as we learn to live with it and manage the risk to ourselves and each other.

2. No proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 or of a negative test is required prior to participation in an activity, nor is the wearing of a face mask obligatory.

3. Members should not participate in a u3a activity if they have any reason to believe they may have Covid-19.

3a. We also ask that members who are or have been in contact with someone with Covid should consider the risk this poses to members they may mix with in u3a activities, and to the households of these people. u3a's age profile inevitably means that we have many vulnerable members, and many members have vulnerable people at home.

4. If a member develops symptoms of Covid-19 after participating in a u3a activity they should promptly notify the group leader or a member of the Committee so that the member's fellow participants can be alerted.
