Angels

You will need:

  • size 9 or 10 / 3.75 - 3.25 mm needles
  • white DK wool - body
  • pink, brown or black DK wool - for the face
  • Silver, gold or white wool for the wings
  • wool for the hair
  • wool for the eyes and mouth
  • a tapestry needle
  • a small amount of stuffing

These can be knitted with 2 needles - or 4 double pointed needles - if you prefer to knit in the round. In which case all the rows will be knit rows.

Body: Cast on 48 stitches

2. Purl18. *P 2tog, P5* repeat to end of row33. Knit
3. *K 2 tog, K 10* repeat to and of row19. Knit34. Purl
4. Purl20. Purl35. K 2tog. Repeat to end of row
5. Knit21. *K2 tog, K4* repeat to end of row36. Purl
6. *P 2tog, P 9* repeat to end of row22. Purl37. Knit
7. Knit23. Knit38. P 2tog. Repeat to end of row
8. Purl24. PurlThread a tapestry needle through the stitches and tighten them.

To make up:
This will depend on whether you used 2 or 4 needles.

4 dpn Needles: Thread some yarn around the stitches at the 'neck' area (Row 27). Take a small amount of stuffing and put it in the head. Draw the wool in to form the neck. Sew on the eyes and mouth. Attach the hair. Attach the wings.

2 needles: You will first need to turn the angel inside out to sew up the head and body. then continue as above.
